Menlo College Bioblitz
A "bioblitz" is an effort to document as many local species as possible in a short amount of time to assist with conservation using citizen science initiatives. For this project, we will use human expertise coupled with A.I. recognition to contribute to citizen science efforts to document local flora and fauna.
This bioblitz was coordinated by Dr. Jodie Austin for English 102 in collaboration with the Bowman Library and Dr. Wei Gordon, Assistant Professor of Biology.
To participate:
1. Download the iNaturalist app
2. Join the Menlo College 2025 Bioblitz project
3. Take pictures or record sounds on your phone
4. Log your finds on the app
The bioblitz will take place on the Menlo College campus on April 21-22 in celebration of Earth Day.
