TEDxMenlo College is happening this Saturday, November 15th!

Among the talks will be Dean Erik Bakke’s talk centered on the artwork currently displayed in the library lobby: Discussed is the internationally recognized artist Felix Gonzalez-Torres and his work. A question is investigated. When viewing the conceptual art projects of this queer artist who died at a young age in 1996 from an AIDS related illness and who made art that both addressed queer and universal themes, in what way is it important to highlight his biography or to not highlight this biography to best appreciate his art?

The Library will be open 12:30-5pm on Saturday. Please feel free to come to engage with the piece after learning more about it through Dean Bakke’s talk.
